TV presenter Casey Treloar is set to deliver her sweetest ray of sunshine; after three heartbreaking miscarriages in six months, she is 14 weeks’ pregnant. The 7NEWS Adelaide weekday weather presenter and fiance Sam Ennis are sharing their exciting news now because she is “terrible at keeping secrets”.
“I started showing quite early. The wardrobe department has had a couple of challenges in trying to find some appropriate outfits ,” Treloar said. “I feel like that’s part of the reason I want to share this news now. I don’t want to have that speculation, I just want people to know. “We’re just so excited and we’ve been pretty open with our journey and our losses … and seeing a happy, healthy little one now in the second trimester, we’re happy to share the news.” But after three devastating losses, the excitement has been tempered by anxiety.
“We wanted to be excited but were somewhat robbed of the joy of finding out you’re pregnant after multiple losses,” Treloar shares.

“There was a sense of excitement but in my head … I was working out, dates-wise, when potentially my next miscarriage might be,” she said. “I was trying to work out the dates around that, and I was so focused on, you know, when potentially I could get into a D&C (dilation and curettage procedure). The lead-up to our first scan was pretty tough.
“We won’t be able to fully experience the joy of this pregnancy just because of our history.”
Hope as pregnancy feels ‘very, very different’
This pregnancy, however, has felt “very, very different”, giving the couple some much-needed hope.
The 33-year-old has also been suffering “relentless” morning sickness, something she didn’t experience during her previous pregnancies, all of which ended before the eight-week mark.
“I’ve been very unwell. Crunch time has been between 5pm and 7pm … I’d get to an ad break and keel over. There have been times when I wasn’t sure I’d make it on air, to be honest,” she says.
Fortunately, the “marvels of modern medicine” have eased the all-day nausea, which means Treloar will be back at the Royal Adelaide Show this week, combining her love of cows with her weather duties.
She’ll be showing 17 of her 30 strong herd of Holsteins, Jerseys and Ayrshires at the show which starts on Saturday, and presenting 4pm and 6pm weather crosses from the showgrounds.
However, she has agreed to one compromise: at the urging of Ennis, there will be no sleeping in a swag on the concrete floor this year, as she has in previous years.
Their baby is due in March, and Treloar and Ennis are waiting to find out the gender. Treloar, who has lost her sweet tooth and instead been craving salt and vinegar chips, is planning to give birth at Burnside Memorial Hospital, where she was also born.
It’s been a roller coaster year for the couple who became engaged in June 2024.
“That ride isn’t over yet, but I feel now we’re at a point where we can accept this pregnancy and the fact that we’ll hopefully have a baby early next year,” says Treloar.
“But in reality … I think our expectations will still be tempered right up until the baby’s born.”
