On Tuesday night’s episode of My Kitchen Rules, Tiffany’s comment about the salad needing more “acid” sets of fireworks at the dinner table, causing Alisha to dramatically walk out.
During Angus and Simon’s instant restaurant, Alisha accused Tiffany of using the wrong terminology but judge Colin Fassnidge quickly corrects the South Australian mum.
Tiffany and Giancarlo spoke to 7NEWS.com.au to share their side of the story and what happened when the cameras stopped rolling.

“For whatever reason, Alisha was confused or didn’t understand,” Giancarlo, 41, said.
“And then it’s pretty clear she has a go at Tiffany.
“I don’t know where it came from for whatever reason … but I particularly sort of held myself back.”

Tiffany explains why she thinks Alisha ultimately walked out of Angus and Simon’s instant restaurant.
“She didn’t understand a few terms that were being discussed, food terms that were being discussed around the table,” Tiffany, 37, said.
“So when she thought I misspoke, she really did give it her all to try to make me look and feel silly.
“I don’t know why, but from the moment we sat down for dinner that night they both just had it out for Giancarlo and I.
“I don’t know what happened, I don’t know what sparked it, but it was one thing after the other: mocking us at the table, interrupting us when we were speaking, saying the opposite of anything we had to say in terms of food critique.
“And then finally it got to this point where I made a comment on the main salad regarding the acid level and you know, it blew up.
“But I think that’s her own insecurities that played out there and that makes me feel for her because I know how that feels, when you doubt yourself and then you lose your self-confidence.
“The last thing I want to do is make anyone feel alienated, left out or silly. That’s not who I am. So that was really, really confusing and upsetting.”

Giancarlo reiterated they’re not here to bring other teams down but it just became an impossible situation.
“When all of that was happening, honestly, I was just holding it together,” Tiffany admitted.
“My heart was in my throat. I was shaking. I wanted to cry, to be honest, but I was like, don’t add fuel to the fire. Hold it together.
“I’m just lucky that I had Gian next to me to support me.”
The couple said it was their respect for the table, the judges and the competition that made them hold back in that “tough situation”.
Tiffany revealed after the cameras stopped rolling they didn’t get the opportunity to clear the air with Alisha and Deanne.

Which is why she was feeling very anxious about dining at their instant restaurant, as the South Australian mums were the next team to cook.
“There was no reconciliation, nor explanation,” Tiffany said. “Anxiety was definitely high and I was so uncomfortable going into there.”
But Tiffany said she did her best to go into their instant testaurant with a “fresh” mind.
“We just put it aside and did the best we could,” Tiffany said.
“Thankfully, Colin took a fair bit of the brunt from Alisha and handled it well.”
My Kitchen Rules airs on Monday and Tuesday at 7.30pm on Seven and 7plus.
