It’s a universal problem for almost every woman working in an office.
The air conditioning is always set to minus 10 degrees Celsius (or so it seems), and you’re destined to shiver in your office chair with bulky lap blankets or wearing an old cardigan that looks completely unprofessional.
Then, it’s time to jump on a Zoom call or go into a meeting, and you’re forced to ditch the ugly sweater and ignore the goosebumps.

The viral office chair blanket, which made it into this year’s Oscars Swag Bag it’s that popular, is the world’s first office chair blanket designed to keep you cosy and warm, while looking stylish and professional for video calls at work.

Created by Gold Coast entrepreneur Jane Helman, who knows the ‘chilly girl’ struggle well, the office worker said even when she was working from home in Canada, she would sit wrapped up in blankets trying to keep warm before she founded Warmür.
“This one day I was sitting, tangled in my blanket, trying to take notes, and as I reached for my pen, I knocked over my coffee cup and spilled my coffee everywhere,” Jane said.
“It sounds crazy, but I immediately had this idea of an office chair blanket. I cleaned up the coffee and started drawing this vision of a ‘Warmür’.”
The Warmür slips onto the back of the office chair, buttons around the armrest to keep it secure and hangs over the back looking like a blanket but never touching the floor.
There is a zipper for a headrest, and when you drape it over your shoulders, the built-in lapels make it look like a blazer, so no one will know you’re wrapped in a blanket.

Jane drove three and half hours to her parents’ home, dug out her childhood sewing machine she got when she was 12 years old, and set to work creating the first prototype.
Not long after she made it, she was chatting to a male friend who had noticed her invention and liked it.
He asked her to make him 10 for the women in his office.
After initially laughing it off, Jane realised he was serious, and her creation had potential.
“At first, I approached a local seamstress and asked if she could recreate this blanket-thing that I’d made. She did a fantastic job. It was perfect. I made a website and they started selling, each one made to order,” she said.
Then after posting a TikTok about staying warm at work, the Warmür went viral.
Jane had thousands of visitors to her website and received an email from a business in New York that wanted to stock Warmürs.

These days, Warmür has made half a million in sales across North America and has expanded into Australia.
It isalso stocked in Staples Canada, Uncommon Goods and Amazon US, CA and AU and now has its eyes set on Nordstrom.
Not only this, but it was included in gift bags in honour of the 2026 Oscar nominees and is on track to be a seven-figure business by the end of the year.
Over on Amazon Australia, the Warmür is a bestseller, particularly now as the temperatures start to drop.
“I am obsessed,” writes one five-star reviewer.
“This product has solved a lot of my problems as someone with a very cold office. I hate having to constantly get up and put a sweater on and ruin my hair or makeup, but my Warmür just stays in my office and actually keeps me surprisingly warm!” adds another.
“It’s well made, not too heavy, and looks very discreet on Zoom calls. I used to drape my electric blanket over me constantly but this looks like a piece of clothing and keeps my temperature regulated the best!! I’ve recommended to all of my coworkers.”
A third says: “So happy with this product. Can be used in soo many ways — the best quality and best value for product. Also so chic and fabulous and compliments any space! Thank you for keeping me Warmür during my work days! 10/10 recommend to anyone considering!”
The blanket retails for $189.99 on Amazon Australia.
“It’s not just for office workers. People wear their Warmür on the train, at the football, at the shops or while working or lounging at home,” Jane said.
“We revamped the product last year and sold out our presale before the stock had even arrived. The support has been absolutely incredible.”
